Editorial Note

“We all have a [wellness journey]. What was the deep lesson that was there for you? I want it because if we can start having these conversations, we start making the connection for people. To be able to tell the stories and see the stories, impacts our bodies and it creates a safe place for women to share…that is collective healing.”

Through her own healing journey of over 7 years with mysterious chronic illness, and her successful career as a writer and storyteller — Erin Berman discovered how the stories we tell ourselves and believe are deeply interwoven with our health, and that by sharing and being witnessed in our journeys, could literally shift the cellular vitality of our bodies.

“I realized how I can use my superpower of storytelling to support my healing process…..For me, it became clear that my deeper soul mission was to help people understand the interconnection between storytelling and healing.”

“Every story makes me cry. And every story stirs like a deep truth in me that I see myself in another woman and I understand what they went through and their journey. The tech stuff, all of that can come, but going back to like the essence of healing through story. If we can all share, it can be so liberating and empowering.”

This is part of a larger movement of Integral Health that has already begun with the breakdown of current healthcare. We’re focused on integrating all perspectives — including coaching, behavioral therapeutics — to focus on a preventative lens that is deeply empowering and enabling for women to take an active seat in their deeper connection to their bodies and health.

“At the end of the day, I don’t believe anyone should tell a woman what to do with her body.” Helping them listen and trust their intuition. Honoring, listening, quieting, stillness.

Meet Erin

Erin Berman is a Forbes-recognized storyteller, creative brand strategist, and founder of Superbloom Health.

Previously, she was a Visiting Scholar at University of Oxford and holds a Master’s of Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco. Other forms of storytelling for her include cooking, traveling, asana practice, and long hikes in the hills.

For me, the greatest Ritual is holding Devotion for your own practice.

It will look different for everyone but for me, it is meditation, mantra, and movement each morning. And making space for it each and every day. My ritual is Devotion to my practice. To create unwavering space. If I can offer a specific Ritual from my Devotion practice, it’s chanting. I have been gifted many mantras over the years, and chanting them each morning creates a mandala of sound I can wear throughout the day. One of my teachers said you can’t stay clean on yesterday’s shower, and so I try to maintain integrity each morning. But my ritual to share is that if you can engage in sacred sound (song, mantra, kirtan, etc.) each day, it will change your life.

“We are building a new paradigm for women’s health and wellness. It’s how do we shift this whole narrative around it. How do we build something for women that embodies the ancient future ways, bringing in intergenerational healing, collectively crowdsourced information, ancestral knowledge, indigenous medicine, energy medicine, East and West. How can we combine all the modalities and include Western medicine and not as a modality, not as the capital T truth, but as just one of the tools in the toolbox?”

Shorter term, Erin is building Superbloom as an inclusive platform inviting women to share their wellness journey as a “social profile” and connect with others who have walked similar paths through very complex health challenges — finding an on-going level of support and sharing of resources.

The longer term vision is that every woman has a Superbloom profile for every stage of life as a woman — supporting you from menstruation to menpause on a deeply integrative platform. We are starting to build out visual dashboard of your Health history and map — like a LinkedIn profile for your health — helping you track your health history and integrate all your health platforms and tools in one.

Core Virtues

  • Diversity, inclusion and equality. Number one, like black and Brown and indigenous community. So strong hearts totally left out of the wellness conversation. Yes.
  • Non-included not valued. Appreciated and even worse. They’re at risk in our current healthcare system and they’re like completely reducted actually.
  • Focus on Women — to support the gender bias in healthcare, like women’s bodies are just not taken seriously by healthcare. Um, or even like understood the sensitivity and the nuance.
  • Inter-generational learning and community of support. Having elders on the platform is extremely important.
  • Integral approach — Not just having experts or specialists to consult, but approaching and gaining support from a wider range of support that can address different dimensions of your experience.

We are Superbloom

Superbloom is an online community for women with chronic illness.

Superbloom was born from my struggle with chronic illness and understanding that deep dis-ease leads to disease, and the collective and personal stories we tell have resonance on a cellular level. Our current healthcare system is broken. The ancient information for women to relate to their wombs has been erased from modern medicine. The path to wellbeing must prioritize diversity, inclusion, equality and reverence to empower the next generation.

“We made Superbloom for womxn because we are so underserved by the medical community and the system of white supremacy, oppression and patriarchy that has traditionally dominated healthcare.”

A note from Erin

“Ritual is everything. It’s how we create intention in our actions, whether that be brushing your hair, engaging in conversation, having a cup of tea, or sitting in deeper practice. To tap into an ecosystem of wisdom keepers holding codes for ancient and modern day rituals is not only an honor but feels imperative at this time on the planet.”

Superbloom is excited to be our first official partner to work towards creating ritual kits that focus on woman’s health and the complex journey of being a modern women deeply connected to her health and vitality. They are excited to be a major resource for all our members to seek wisdom and council around health, and to share their personal health journeys.

She invites anyone who feels inspired to create a profile and share their health journey on their content platform, “In Her Words”.
